Things to do this weekend, March 12-13, 2016

There’s a lot going on in and around Hamilton as winter moves out and spring slowly approaches. Here’s a list of events happening this weekend:

TODAY, MARCH 12
VENICE ANTIQUE MALL: Head up 128 to Ross and stop at the Venice Pavilion Antiques building for 15-percent off everything in the mall, plus refreshments.

ROTARY PRESENTS SHREK THE MUSICAL: It’s the annual musical put on by the Hamilton Rotary and it features many talented local performers. This year’s show is in the auditorium at Hamilton High School on Eaton Avenue. Tonight’s show is at 8 p.m. and there’s another one at 2 p.m. Sunday.

TRONGONE BAND: The Trongone Band will perform tonight as part of the WintersEdge concert series hosted by the City. The show will be at the Fitton Center, 101 S. Monument Ave., Hamilton. It begins at 7 p.m.

CREATIVA CONVERGENCE: Poetry, music and more at Miami Hamilton Downtown on High Street. It’s an open mic night for local talent. Sign-ups begin at 7 p.m.

BLUE AND WHITE NIGHT: This is the annual fundraiser for the Hamilton High School Boosters. It takes place at the FOP Lodge at Joyce Park. It begins at 8 p.m. and costs $35 at the door.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13
EASTER EGG ORIENTEERING: Children use a map to find locations and get an Easter Egg at each checkpoint. They receive a toy or prize at the finish. Takes place at Rentschler Forest from noon to 2 p.m. (Reminder: Set your clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday!)

ROTARY PRESENTS SHREK THE MUSICAL: This is the final chance to see the annual musical put on by the Hamilton Rotary. It begins at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Hamilton High School on Eaton Avenue.
