Sci-Fi Saturday Movie Marathon at the Hamilton Lane Library  

Adults are invited to bring your lunch or some movie munchies and join us for a showing of three awesome products of the silver screen on Saturday, March 21, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Lane Library.

Show times are:

  • 12:00 – 1:45 p.m.: “Gattaca”
  • 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.: “Guardians of the Galaxy”
  • 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.: “Edge of Tomorrow (Live. Die. Repeat)”

Registration is not required. The Hamilton Lane Library is located at 300 N. Third St.

Local men make film premiering in theaters this August

Several area men make film directed by James Franco (The Great and Powerful Oz, Planet of the Apes, James Dean, Spiderman)

Several Hamilton, Ohio, helped bring a Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel to life in the new film “Child of God”.

The adaptation film was co-written and produced by Hamilton, Ohio native Vince Jolivette. The film also features local Hamilton, Ohio actor, filmmaker and civil rights activist Terrance Huff.

Other Hamilton, Ohio crew includes assistant editor Jay Davis and set designer Patrick Jackson.

The film has been making waves around the world. “Child of God” was selected to be screened in the official competition at the 70th Venice International Film Festival and was an official selection of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.The film made its United States premiere at the 51st New York Film Festival and then was screened at the Austin Film Festival. “Child of God” hits theaters August 1st 2014.
